The Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action’s award to Dr. Ismail Serageldin

Alexandria—The Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action of the AUC every year awards several outstanding women in Egypt at the annual celebration for women. A few years ago, the EOAA, also started to recognize men for their efforts and contribution to improve the status of women in Egypt.

Some of those previously recognized distinguished persons include (but are not limited to) the following: Dr. Laila Takla, Dr. Farkhonda Hassan, Ms. Suzan Hassan, Ms. Samira Ahmed, Ms. Mona Zul Fikkar, Dr. Nadia Makram Ebeid, H.E Governor of Qalioubia Adly Hussein, also Governor of Qenna, the late Dr. Adel Abu Zahra and Dr. Hossam Badrawi.

As one of this year’s very distinguished awardees the EOAA has selected Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Librarian of Alexandria, , for his continuous efforts and contribution to enhance and promote the role of women as an equal partner in society.

Among this year’s awardees are Dr. Iman El Kaffass, former Director of EOAA, Dr. Mohamed Fayad, and several other very distinguished names.
