An Exhibition of Ancient Mediterranean Cities at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA)

Alexandria—the BA will hold an artistic exhibition entitled, The Discovery of Ancient Mediterranean Cities” by Jean Claude Golvin. The exhibition is organized by Actes Sud Errances Press in cooperation with Agence Régionale du Patrimoine PACA.

The exhibition features a collection of water color paintings of the most important sites in the ancient Mediterranean by Jean Claude Golvin, the National Center for Scientific Research in France.

Maestro Sherif Mohie Eldin, Director of the BA Arts Center, stated that the exhibition is a tour from Gaul to Egypt passing by Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Sicily, and North Africa. He added that the paintings are a complete image of the Ancient Mediterranean. The paintings also feature different eras from the Pharos till the Roman Age and revives sites that no longer exist.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday, March 1st 2006 at 19:30 at the BA.
