ICOM conference at the BA

Alexandria, 15 September 2005—The Antiquities Museum at the BA is organizing the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Conference, 21-24 September.

Speakers representing museums from Austria, Belgium, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Spain and the USA will participate. In addition, there will be representatives from the Luxor Museum, the National Museum, the Greek and Roman Museum and El Nouba Museum in Egypt.

The ICOM conference encourages the exchange of ideas among museums and participating countries. It discusses numerous topics including: museums and modern media; new trends for permanent and special exhibitions; evaluation of exhibitions and programs; special research projects, cooperation between universities and research centers; and cooperation of the International Committee for Egyptology (CIPEG) and ARAB-ICOM.
