The Remarkable Journey of Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hegazy in a Seminar at the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organized a cultural seminar dedicated to the great Egyptian poet Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hegazy, on the sidelines of the eighteenth round of its International Book Fair.

The seminar witnessed the participation of Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; the great poet Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hegazy; Prof. Nagwa Saber, Professor of Criticism and Rhetoric at the Department of Arabic Language, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University; Prof. Murad Abbas, former Head of the Arabic Language Department and Professor of Comparative Literature and Modern Literary Criticism at the same department; Prof. Zeinab Farghali, Head of the Department of Rhetoric at the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom, Minya University; and Dr. Nada Yousry, Lecturer of Modern and Comparative Hebrew Literature at Alexandria University. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Sahar Sherif, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.

During the seminar, Mr. Hegazy recited three of his poems: al-Shayʼ (The Thing), Naḥt (Carving), and Khārij al-waqt (Out of Time).
