Serageldin Participates in Strengthening Dialogue in the West Asia and North Africa Region

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will join the members of the international senior advisory board of West Asia and North Africa (WANA) for their first board meeting in Amman, Jordan, on 15 October 2008.

The WANA process has been launched by His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan, with the support of the Nippon Foundation, in order to stimulate and strengthen regional dialogue in the West Asia and North Africa region.

Members of the board are HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan; President Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Finland; Mr. Yohei Sasakawa, Chairman of the Nippon Foundation, Japan; Christopher Patten, Baron Patten of Barnes, UK; Ambassador Tatsuo Arima, Japan; Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria; and Professor Rehman Sobhan, Chairman, Centre for Policy Dialogue, Bangladesh.
