The BA Calligraphy Center Celebrates the End of Summer Workshops

Alexandria— The BA Calligraphy Center, in collaboration with the Children’s and Young Peoples’ Libraries is celebrating the end of this summer Hieroglyphics and Arabic Calligraphy Workshops on Tuesday, 26 August 2008 at 17:00 hrs at the BA Conference Center, Small Theater.

Sherine Ramadan, Supervisor of these Workshops, stated that the students were very enthusiastic and excited to learn Hieroglyphics. Many of them also came up with creative ideas of artworks and handicrafts using colors, cardboard, clay and macaroni. Some students were very accurate in painting and coloring, and gathered information to make simple research using books and the Internet.

Dr. Khaled Azab, Deputy Director, Calligraphy Center, added that the Calligraphy Center aims at increasing young people interest in the study of Arabic calligraphy in schools and universities, and improving youth’s Arabic calligraphy skills.
