“Translation of the Meanings of the Holy Quran: Basics and Fundamentals” in a Lecture at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Manuscript Center will host Dr. Ahmed Zaki Hammad, Faculty of Languages and Translations, Department of English, Al-Azhar University, on Monday, 28 July 2008, as part of the Manuscript Center Cultural Season, to give a lecture titled “Translation of the Meanings of the Holy Quran: Basics and Fundamentals”. Dr. Youssef Zeidan will moderate the event.

Dr. Hammad will speak about twenty years of intense scholarly research that he spent to produce his monumental translation of the meanings of the Holy Quran. Printed in the USA in 2007, the translation lies in two volumes: Volume I comprises the complete text of the translation. Volume II presents the Arabic Text of the Quran in a new layout, along with an elaborate study that introduces the message and content of the Quran.

The Lecture will start at 14:00 hrs. at the BA Conference Center Small Theater
