The BA Hosts the Gender Economic Research and Policy Analysis (GERPA) Steering Committee Meeting

Alexandria— The BA will host on Thursday, 15 November 2007, the steering committee meeting of the Gender Economic Research and Policy Analysis (GERPA), attended by dignitaries including Suhair Al-Ali, Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; Dr. Yousef Ibrahim, Kuwaiti Minister of Finance; and Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria.

GERPA is an initiative that was born as part of an expanded program named the Sustainable Advancement of Gender Equality (SAGE). The Center for Arab Women Training and Research (CAWTAR) based in Tunisia, and the World Bank created GERPA in 2005 to promote quality research work on women and to make sure that Arab research agendas address the particular circumstances of women.
