The BA Celebrates The International Peace Day

Alexandria— As part of the BA's celebration of the International Peace Day, 21 to 25 September 2007, the BA will show a number of international films, discussing global peace issues and the mutual understanding between different people and cultures.
Critic Samir Farid, BA Cinema Advisor, stated that the festival is the first of its kind in the world that specializes in showing films that reflect the dialogue of cultures and warns of the dangers of its absence, especially after the events of 11 September 2001 in the United States of America. It is also the first festival in the world to open on 21 September, which is the International Peace Day as was decided by the United Nations General Assembly on 7 September 2001, three days prior to the events of September 11.
The show will begin with the French film " Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran ", produced in 2003, and starring the great Egyptian artist Omar Sharif. It will also present the Italian film "Once You’re Born", produced 2005, and the film "Hidden", an Austrian film produced in 2005. Also two films produced in the United States of America, "Memoirs of a Geisha" produced in 2005, and "Babel" produced in 2006.
The shows will begin at 7:00 pm, at the BA Auditorium.
