The Significance of Drawings and Inscriptions in the Levant

Alexandria— The BA Calligraphy Center will organize on Wednesday, 18 April 2007, a lecture entitled " The Significance of Drawings and Inscriptions in the Levant during the Prehistoric Ages"

Dr. Ahmed Amin Selim, Professor of Ancient History and Head of History and Egyptian and Islamic Archeology Department, Alexandria University. The lecture tackles the connotations of drawings and inscriptions during prehistoric ages in Egypt and some parts of the old Near East. It also and refers to the connotations in the areas of human activity in terms of religion, knowledge, economy, and social life and how it is reflected in the nature of environmental conditions.

The lecture will start at 14:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
