Dr. Khaled Azab’s Fiqh of Urbanism Wins Most Valuable Arabic Book Award

Dr. Khaled Azab’s Fiqh of Urbanism: Architecture, Society and State in the Islamic Civilization, published by the Egyptian-Lebanese Publishing House, has won the Most Valuable Arabic Book Award by the Arab Thought Foundation. The book is considered to be a comprehensive study of the relationship between Islamic architecture and the society that formed the urban environment and architectural patterns that influence urbanism.

The book consists of eight chapters as well as an introduction to the fiqh of urbanism. The chapters cover different topics, such as the urban planning of Islamic cities, the fiqh of mosque architecture, the fiqh of water and Islamic facilities, the architecture of commercial facilities, and the architecture of housing facilities. The book also contains a glossary of terms related to the fiqh of urbanism.
