Ismail Serageldin Appointed President of the Digital Libraries Federation

The International Digital Libraries Federation, which includes the Library of Congress, the Oxford and Cambridge University Libraries, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), has appointed Ismail Serageldin as president.
Dr. Serageldin was chosen due to the efforts he made in transforming the BA into the first digital library in Africa and Asia and because of the achievements the BA has made since its inauguration, which include posting 200 thousand digital books online and setting up many search engines that benefit thousands of researchers and students in Egypt and around the world.
