“The BA a Crossroad of Cultures” at the BnF

The Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), together with the Embassy of Egypt in Paris and the Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Association, held a Roundtable Discussion marking the BA anniversary and bringing together the main participators in the recreation of the role of the Library as a crossroads of culture.
The event was moderated by Bruno Racine, BnF Director, and Mohamed Moustafa Kamal Ambassador of Egypt in France. It featured three films on the BA since the historical meeting in Aswan in 1990 until receiving the French book donation. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, gave a talk entitled La bibliothèque hier et aujourd''hui (The BA Yesterday and Today).
The event also featured Gérald Grunberg, Head of the BA Friends Association; Arnaud Ramiere, Head of the Ferdinand de Lesseps and Suez Canal Friends Association; Writer Robert Solé; and Dr. Fathy Sleh, Former Ambassador of Egypt at UNESCO.
