Epitaphs in Ayyubid and Mamluks Egypt

The BA Writing and Scripts Center has recently published Epitaphs in Ayyubid and Mamluks Egypt (Shawahed Al-Qobour Al-Ayoubia wa Al-Mamlukia fi Misr) by Dr. Alaa Eddin Abd El-Al, Lecturer of Islamic Writings and Inscriptions, Department of Islamic Antiquities, Faculty of Arts, Suhag University.
The book is a thorough study of some epitaphs dating back to the Ayyubid and Mamluks periods in Islamic Egypt. It has stressed the importance of epitaphs within the domain of Islamic art, something that highlights their historic, artistic, social, economic and cultural significance, and unveiled some prominent developments in Arabic calligraphy.
