The Bibliotheca Alexandrina opened the Egyptian-Moroccan Cultural Forum, organized by the Center for Strategic Studies and the Center for Islamic Civilization Studies, both part of the Library's Academic Research Sector, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Youth Forum in Asilah. The forum was held over three days in the Delegates Hall at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center.

The forum was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Ait Ouali, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Egypt (through a recorded message); Ambassador Ahmed Nihad Abdel Latif, Ambassador of Egypt to the Kingdom of Morocco (via Zoom); Mr. Tawfiq Lazari, Deputy Secretary General, Asilah Forum; and Dr. Yassine Isbouya, President of the Mediterranean Youth Forum, Kingdom of Morocco, along with a select group of academics, researchers, and intellectuals from Egypt and Morocco. The session was moderated by Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat, Director of the BA Center for Strategic Studies.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmed Zayed highlighted the importance of this event, stressing that the Library is an edifice that was built to be a platform for the mind and a crossroads of civilizations.

He added that the Moroccan city of Asilah is not only a beautiful city, but also a unique Arab and international model of how culture can be transformed into a development project and a lifestyle.

It is worth noting that the forum witnessed the participation of young people and experts from Egypt and Morocco at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in an academic and intellectual dialogue that addressed the roles of culture in building bridges between official institutions and civil initiatives and evoking shared memory as an initiative for dialogue and cooperation.
