The BA Releases the Eighth Issue of Hypatia Magazine Under the Title “Arab Women... Leadership in Earth Sciences”

The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program has released the eighth issue of the magazine Hypatia: Arab Women in Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Arab Network of Women in Science and Technology. This issue is titled "Arab Women... Leadership in Earth Sciences," as part of the Library's support for the role of Arab women in scientific research and their presence in the fields of science and technology.
This issue features a selection of Arab writers, researchers, and scientists, addressing key issues related to earth sciences, the environment, climate change, remote sensing, and sustainable development.
It includes a special feature highlighting the contributions of prominent Arab women scientists in the fields of geology and earth sciences, and showcases inspiring examples of Arab women who have achieved influential scientific accomplishments at the regional and international levels. Among them are Dr. Shaimaa Abu Zeid, winner of the Breakthrough Prize in Physics, Dr. Yasmine Fouad and her international role in combating desertification, as well as a number of scientific and research leaders in the Arab world.
The issue also highlights pioneering research experiences that employ modern technologies and space data in the service of agriculture and natural resource management, and dedicates sections to “Scientists of Tomorrow” and “Inspirational Figures throughout History,” reflecting the magazine's vision of building intergenerational bridges and promoting scientific culture in society.
This publication underscores the BA’s commitment to supporting scientific knowledge, empowering Arab women, and highlighting their role as key partners in addressing environmental and scientific challenges and creating a more sustainable future for the region.
