The BA Celebrates the Opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum with the People of Alexandria

As part of the national preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on Saturday, 1 November 2025, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina celebrates this historic and unique event with its patrons from Alexandria by launching a live broadcast of the opening events from its Plaza of Civilizations and Lecture Hall on Saturday at 6:00 pm, in line with its enlightening mission as Egypt's window on the world and the world's window on Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said that the participation of the people of Alexandria in celebrating this national and international cultural event comes within the spirit of pride and appreciation of Egypt's heritage, reflecting the cultural and educational role of the Library in promoting awareness of the value of Egyptian civilization and strengthening the spirit of national belonging. He noted that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum reflects the political leadership's keenness and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's vision to promote culture and preserve Egyptian heritage, stating that this opening represents a milestone in the fields of tourism and culture in Egypt and reinforces its position as a distinguished cultural destination at the global level.

The event will feature a live broadcast of the celebrations on a giant screen at the Library Plaza, as well as a presentation in the Conference Center's Lecture Hall, with both the Main Building and Conference Center illuminated in gold, accompanied by spectacular laser shows.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina invites the people of Alexandria to attend this unique event to celebrate this great national achievement, as this celebration represents an opportunity to show pride in national achievements and highlight Egypt's cultural heritage to the people of Alexandria and the whole world.
