As part of the celebrations organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, led by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, to mark the 52nd anniversary of the October War, the Sadat Museum held its ninth annual competition yesterday, 6 October 2025, in the museum hall from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with wide participation from visitors and enthusiasts.

The events featured a comprehensive guided tour inside the museum, during which participants learned about the most remarkable possessions of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, including rare documents, official correspondence, and personal belongings that reflect different stages of his national and political career. The events also included viewing the interactive Sadat Culturama show, which documents the stages of his life from childhood to the moment of victory in the 1973 October War and his death in October 1981.

The competition aims to promote awareness of Egypt's national history and instill a sense of belonging in new generations.

Nearly 100 contestants took part in this year's competition and 10 winners were selected by a random draw from the correct answers. The names were announced and the prizes were distributed in a festive atmosphere, along with answers to all questions and explanations of the correct answers, in line with the competition's goal of spreading accurate historical knowledge.

Winners received cultural publications by the BA, particularly the “Heritage of Humanity Series for Young People”, which aims to introduce younger generations to Egypt's history and national symbols.

Among the most notable questions at this year's competition was one about the latest addition to the Sadat Museum, namely his passport, which Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA, succeeded in adding to the museum in April 2023.

The museum witnessed a large turnout of school students and visitors who were keen to participate in the events and view the late leader's acquisitions on this cherished national occasion.
