BA Director Discusses Cooperation with Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center Chairman

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, received Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center; Mr. Gomaa Al Dhaheri, Director of the Specialized Libraries Department; Mr. Walid Alaa El-Din, Director of the Corporate Communication Office; and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Marzouqi, Director of the Chairman’s Office, to discuss means of cooperation between both entities.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed thanked the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center for choosing the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as the leading institution during the first round of the Arabic Labguage Summit, which was held in Abu Dhabi on 20 December 2022, and praised in this context the strong relations between the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
For his part, Dr. Ali bin Tamim expressed his delight at visiting the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and noted that Egypt will be the guest of honor of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which will take place in late April 2024.
The meeting tackled a range of topics and projects that could form the basis for a cooperation agreement between the two institutions. It proposed the inclusion of the Planetarium Science Center as a key partner in the Arab Science Festival, which will be held in Abu Dhabi within two months. It also addressed the means of highlighting the significant role of the Library’s Manuscript Restoration Laboratory, together with the possibility of providing mutual access to electronic resources for the benefit of the public of both entities.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Ali Bin Tamim and the accompanying delegation toured the BA after exchanging gifts with the Director.
