Seminar: “Awards… The End of the Path of Creativity or its Beginning”

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, organizes a free and open for public seminar entitled “Awards… The End of the Path of Creativity or its Beginning” on Wednesday, 24 August 2022, at 6:00 pm, at Sinnari House in Cairo.
The seminar focuses on literary awards, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as their impact on literature. It also attempts to answer several queries surrounding the benefits of these awards on the literary work itself, including the increase in readership and the amount of publicity it might receive.
The event will be delivered by novelist Hossam El-Adly. Mr. El-Adly published five short story collections, a poetry collection in colloquial Arabic, eight novels, some of them have garnered awards, including the State Encouragement Award in 2015, for his novel Al-Ziyara (The Visit).
The seminar will be moderated by novelist and art historian Dr. Sherif Shaaban, who is a Lecturer in Art History at the Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University.
