Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is set to inaugurate the events of the Seventh Annual Day for Coptic Heritage, organized by the BA Center for Coptic Studies on Thursday, 10 March 2022, under the title “Coptic Arts Celebration”, and in cooperation with the Children’s Civilization and Creativity Center.
The events will start at 9:00 am, at the Children’s Civilization and Creativity Center in Cairo, with the opening speeches of Dr. Elfeki and a number of key figures interested in Coptic arts and studies.
The inauguration will be followed by an exhibition of Coptic and Byzantine icons crafted by 15 artists who presented 30 artworks that depict the different forms of Coptic arts. The day will also include a number of lectures delivered in two consecutive sessions by a host of prominent Coptology researchers. Moreover, a documentary film – directed by Peter Mimi and tells the story of the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt – will be screened between both sessions.
The day will be concluded with choir performances at St. Mary’s Coptic Church and the Catholic Copts’ Church of the Holy Family.
The event is free and open for public.
All precautionary measures will be taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
