The BA Center of Francophone Activities (CAF) organized the fourth round of “Days of Mediterranean Cinema”, in cooperation with the Mediterranean Center for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA) and the BA Arts Center.
This year’s round witnessed the screening of three documentary films, with an educational dimension, that revolved around the Mediterranean countries. The event was characterized by the participation of more than 300 Francophone students from 17 secondary schools in Alexandria, Mansoura, Port Said, and Cairo.
The level of student participation was highly remarkable, which qualified some of them to participate in an international competition held in France, and titled “I’m a Mediterranean Citizen.” The competition aimed at highlighting a particular issue facing Mediterranean society, through filming a one-minute smartphone video. Student Samer Abou El-Enein, from Les écoles françaises officielles de langues in Mansoura, won a cash prize for best video.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second time that Egypt has won in this international competition, an achievement realized through the BA Center of Francophone Activities.
