The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organizes an open for public seminar to discuss Hanan Suleiman’s novel Al Ra’i (The Guardian) on Wednesday, 13 October 2021, at 7:00 pm, at Sinnari House in Cairo. The seminar will be moderated by novelist and critic Dr. Tamer Attia.

The novel is set between Morocco and Egypt, and sheds light on the phenomenon of mindlessly following and drifting towards particular groups. It is characterized by its meticulous realistic depiction of characters, as well as the use of Egyptian and Moroccan local dialects.

Hanan Suleiman is a freelance writer and journalist who worked at several Egyptian, Arabic, and foreign newspapers. She is also a researcher, media coach, and journalistic translator. Al Ra’i is her first novel, published by Al Hala Publishing and Distribution.
