The BA Takes Part in the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts

For the first time, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina participates in the eighth edition of the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts, which takes place from 13 to 16 June 2021, at the BA Sinnari House in Cairo.
Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, said that the Library is honored to take part in this festival, stressing the fact that the Library of Alexandria embraces all kinds of refined arts from different cultures.
Dr. Intessar Abdel Fattah, Founder and Director of the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts, highlighted the important role of the festival in promoting the spiritual values associated with the concepts of benevolence, peace, affection, optimism, and joy. He also stated that this festival is a great opportunity for strengthening the relations among peoples through art, learning about different cultures, and preserving the heritage of Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts will be held at Saladin Citadel, Sinnari House, Hanager Arts Center, Al-Ghoury Dome, Al Horreya Garden, the garden of Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum, as well as Prince Taz Palace. The festival will witness the participation of 30 troupes from Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, Sudan, South Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Yemen, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in addition to the foreign communities living in Egypt, that are interested in showcasing their heritage.
