“Fighting Treasure Hunting from Africa to the Americas” in a Webinar at the BA

The BA Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies organizes a webinar entitled “Fighting Treasure Hunting from Africa to the Americas: Safeguarding the World’s Sunken History” on Thursday, 27 May 2021, at 2:30 pm. It will be given by Dr. Arturo Rey da Silva, International Expert on Cultural Heritage, University of Edinburgh, UK.
The webinar will tackle the damage caused by the acts of treasure hunting executed in Africa and Latin America, in addition to highlighting the efforts exerted by the international community to protect underwater cultural heritage from all attempts of commercial use, while fighting the illegal processes of excavation.
