In the framework of the “International Augmented Med” project (IAM) funded by the European Union, the Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex Med) organizes a workshop entitled “Architectural Video Mapping” from 3 to 6 June 2013.
Being the first of its kind, the purpose of this workshop is rediscovering various sites and monuments thanks to augmented reality installations or interactive illumination. It aims at developing innovative multimedia technologies which makes reality interact with digital constructions and reconstructions; thus modifying, enhancing and enriching the perceived world.
These technologies will soon be applied in Alexandria in order to raise public awareness, and maintain and enhance the attractiveness of the Mediterranean destination on international markets for the management of cultural and natural heritage tourism.
The workshop is moderated by a group of Italian and Spanish experts, with the goal of training a cadre of Egyptian professionals specialized in this field.
