"Violence Against Women" Campaign

The BA Main Library Department, in collaboration with the UN Women and Make a Contribution (MAC) Club, initiates a campaign to eliminate violence against women, including sexual harassment, from 25 to 28 November 2012, on the occasion of the international day of eliminating violence against women.
The Campaign seeks to raise awareness on violence against women, with special focus on sexual harassment phenomenon, through a series of activities including lectures, debates, workshops, trainings, theatrical performances, film screenings, concerts and others.
A number of high calibers and public figures concerned with women’s issues will participate, including Dr. Nehad Abu El-Qomasan, Head of the Egyptian Center for Women’s Rights (ECWR); Dr. Manal Abul Hassan, Secretary General of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Women's Committee; Dr. Amena Nosseir, Member of the National Council for Human Rights and Professor at Azhar University; Dr. Manal Omar Consultant Psychiatrist; and Actor Khaled Abu El-Naga, UNICEF Good Will Ambassador, in addition to several civil society organizations.
