Book Launch of Alexandria was our Destiny

The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center holds on Monday, 15 October 2012, the Book Launch of Alexandria was our Destiny: Based on the Memories of Marie-Luise Nagel, written by Annelies Ismail and Mona Gabriel, and translated by Leila Helmy.
The book traces how Marie-Luise Nagel’s ancestors came to Egypt from Central Europe during the nineteenth century, attracted by the new opportunities and by the inauguration of the Suez Canal. For several generations, they became part of the vibrant cosmopolitan community of Alexandria in a backdrop of historical events.
The event is held at the BACC Lecture Hall at 7:00 pm, and is open for public.
