“Your Rights to Access to Knowledge” Workshop

In celebration of the World Book and Copyright Day, and the World Intellectual Property Day, the BA Francophone Library and the Access to Knowledge (A2K) Initiative hold “Your Right to Access to Knowledge” workshop on Sunday and Monday 29 and 30 April 2012.
Several public figures participate in the event including, Alexandria Governor Dr. Osama El-Fouly; Ambassador Naela Gabr, President of the National Committee of the Francophonie; Wiebke Dalhoff, representative of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA); Christopher Friend from the World Blind Union; Víctor Vázquez representing The World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); Gaelle Krikorian, author of many books on the same subject including Libres Savoirs: Les Biens Communs de la Connaissance (France, C&F editions, 2011) and Access to Knowledge in the age of the Intellectual Property (United States, Zone Books, 2010); Dr. Mokhtar Warida, First Secretary Egyptian Mission to the UN and International Organizations in Geneva; Moushira Elamrawy, Wikimedia Foundation Arabic Projects Consultant; and Professor Mohamed Nour Farahat, Professor of Philosophy and History of Law.
