The Center of Francophone Activities Participates in the “Mediterranean in Photos” Festival in Marseille

For the second consecutive year, the BA Center of Francophone Activities organized specialized workshops for students of Francophone schools in Cairo and Alexandria, which tackled cinematic criticism and how to write them, in addition to the elements of documentary films and their importance. The workshops were held in cooperation with the International Mediterranean Prize for Documentary Films and Investigative Reporting (PriMed) and the Mediterranean Center for Visual Communication (CMCA).
The committee that comprised of Film Critic Hala Elmawy, Valerie Garbo, Head of Communications at the Mediterranean Center for Visual Communication, and Marwa El Sahn, Head of the Center of Francophone Activities at the BA announced 12 winners from Cairo and Alexandria. The prizes were as follows: the first prize goes to two students for attending the “Mediterranean in Photos” Festival in Marseille from 25 November to 1 December 2018. The second prize is given to four students to attend Cairo International Film Festival in its 40th edition, from 20 – 29 November 2018, while the third prize is awarded to six students to attend and take part in organizing Luxor African Film Festival, from 15 – 21 March 2019.
These prizes are given with the support of the General Consulate of France in Alexandria, Saint Anne School in Cairo, the “Mission Laique Francaise” in Alexandria, together with Mr. Muhammed Hefzy, President of Cairo International Film Festival and Ms. Azza Elhusseiny, Director of Luxor African Film Festival.
