Extending the collaboration between the BA and Nasser Foundation with the aim to document the life of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the BA launched a trilingual interface of Nasser Digital Archive. Targeting non-Arabic speaking users, the Archive is currently available in English and French.
The material on Nasser Archive is categorized by date, by author, by source or by type. Now, through the trilingual interface, users can retrieve archived material through facilitated search or through simple browsing. Famous speeches in various events such as the Nationalization of the Suez Canal, and the announcement of the Union with Syria are among the valuable historical material available in the Archive, in addition to the collection of photo with translated captions. Another unique collection of stamps, coins and caricatures of Nasser are available with descriptions in English and French as well.
The Archive has been recently updated with more press articles in Arabic and English magazines featuring different stages in Nasser’s life. Another two important documentaries about the Egyptian-Syrian union and Nasser as a symbol of the Arab dream were added.
