The BA Dialogue Forum and International School of Information Science (ISIS) host on Saturday, 30 July 2011, the first TEDx event in Alexandria, TEDxAlexandriaU.
TED started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from the three worlds of technology, entertainment and design, creating “TED”, a non-profit entity devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. In this spirit, TEDx was created at the local level for the aim of giving communities the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences.
TEDxAlexandriaU provides a platform for new and innovative ideas, and offers common grounds for people of different backgrounds to interact. The talks will cover fields as diverse as health, technology, business, enlightenment as well as general inspirational topics which could be of interest to many.
In addition to 16 different 18-minute talks divided into four sessions, the event will also include an interactive exhibition and workshops between sessions.
