Documentaries about Mummification and Sunken Treasures at the BA Antiquities Museum

The BA Antiquities Museum displays the sunken treasures hauled up from the Mediterranean seabed near the Eastern and Western harbors of Alexandria, following their display in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan. The Antiquities Museum now displays its collections along with documentary films on the discovery and restoration phases of the monuments.

Screened in the “Afterlife Hall” in the Antiquities Museum, “Egypt Underworld” movie sheds light on the ancient Egyptian process of mummification and the preparation for the afterlife. The hall houses several exquisite pieces, which reflects the religious funerary beliefs of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization.

It is worth mentioning that the BA Antiquities Museum is the first museum in the world housed within the complex of a library. The Museum houses 1133 pieces, aiming to give its visitors a glimpse of the different eras of Egypt’s history, starting from the Pharaonic era until the Islamic one, and passing by the Greco-Roman and Coptic civilizations.
