Around 3,000 high school graduate students attended the 2017 Sketch Your Future Conference, organized by the BA for the 10th consecutive year, to seek guidance in choosing the college that best suits them. Thousands of other students also virtually attended the event via the live broadcast provided through the official BA website.
The conference aims to bring together newly graduated high school students with college students in order for them to learn more about the differences between school and university education systems. It also helps guide high school students to the colleges that best suit their abilities by highlighting the different fields of study and the job opportunities these colleges qualify them for.
This year’s conference was held at the BA on 8–9July 2017. It is set to be held at Cairo University on 10–11 July; Menoufia University, Shibin el Kom on 12 July; Tanta University on 13 July; then, finally, at the Luxor International Convention Centre, in collaboration with South Valley University.
Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, stated that the Library will focus more on the youth during the upcoming period. He emphasized that the BA is keen on providing the youth with the opportunity to express their opinions, discuss their perspectives, and receive guidance and expertise. He added that he will soon convene with Arab and African youth to discuss how their communication with the BA can be supported and developed. The BA is also preparing to launch several cultural courses, targeting youth, as part of its combatting extremism program.
