Call for Application: Advanced Course on Arabic Manuscript Calligraphy

The BA Manuscripts Center and Center for Calligraphy Studies are organizing an advanced course on the calligraphy of Arabic manuscripts. The course will be delivered by Dr. Nassar Mansour and is going to be held from 12 to 16 March 2017.
It targets MA and PhD researchers specialized in calligraphy and Arabic manuscripts, chief critical editors and cataloguers, as well as Islamic arts and Arabic calligraphy specialists.
The course will focus on the importance of identifying different types of calligraphy in dating manuscripts, in case the researcher is not provided with the name of the copyist or the date of production of the manuscript.
Interested participants should send a registration request from 1 to 31 January 2017, along with a resume stating their academic major, profession, previous experience in collating Arabic manuscripts, and previously attended courses.
Participants will be granted participation certificates, stating the actual number of training hours, accredited from the BA Manuscripts Center and Center for Calligraphy Studies, on the condition that they attend at least 75% of the course lectures.

- Egyptians: EGP 500
- Non-Egyptians: $500
