BA Receives Generous Donation to Establish Scientific Research Library

The BA has recently received a generous donation of around 5,000 books on research methods to build the first and the largest virtual research methods library. The virtual library was built in only 7 months at almost no cost due to the grand generosity of the scientific community and the BA.
Dr. Serageldin, Director of the BA, and Dr. Ronald E. Laporte, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh, had built a large virtual research methods library that includes thousands of PowerPoint lectures on research methods and statistics. They also launched an initiative to collect books on research methods and send them to the BA, aiming to provide them as resources for young research in the Arab world and in Africa.
The initiative was widely welcomed by scientists and researchers around the world, and it was also endorsed by the American Statistical Society, the Royal Statistical Society, and the International Biometrics Society.
The initiative successfully collected over 5,000 books so far, and the collection is now loaded on a cargo vessel, the Sealand Washington, that set sail last week to add the collection to the BA virtual library.
