The BA has received a copy of Kashf al-ghummah al-jāmiʻ li-akhbār al-ummah revised by Professor Hassan Mohamed Alnaboodah, the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU).

The two-volume book is a study and revision of Kashf al-ghummah al-jāmiʻ li-akhbār al-ummah that was written by Sarhan ibn Sa’id Izkiwi in 1728. The significance of the book lies in the fact that it is the first all-inclusive and rich resource on Oman’s history. The book deals with the history of Ibadism, includes information on Fiqh and beliefs, documents the establishment of the Ibadi Dynasty in Oman since the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate, and narrates events that occurred during various periods in Oman and mentions the names of the people and tribes who participated in said events. It also provides vital information on the geographical locations, names, and inhabitants of cities and villages.

The book is the outcome of immense efforts and has almost no spelling, grammatical, or typing mistakes, which is a rarity in this kind of work and reflects ultimate care and precision. The book also highlights an important period in the history of the Gulf Region and the Arab World.
