Call for Application: Virtual Museums Training Program at Sinnari House

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) Board of Directors has opened a call for participation in the “Virtual Museums” Training Program. The training program, organized by ICOM, will be divided into two rounds and will be held at the BA Sinnari House.
The first round is going to be held on 7 and 8 December 2016. This round’s trainers are engineer Mohamed Ismail, Deputy Director of the BA CULTNAT; Dr. Eiman el-Gewaily, Interior Architecture teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University; Dr. Osama el-Nahas, the former Director General of the Department of Antiquities Exhibitions Abroad, Ministry of Antiquities; and several CULTNAT engineers.
The training program will tackle a number of topics, including the concept of a virtual museum, designing virtual museums from a creative perspective, the technology of publishing heritage (selection and evaluation), 3D design, and more.
The second round of the “Virtual Museums” program is going to be held from 13 to 15 December 2016, and its trainers will be the BA ICT Sector staff members.
The second round will offer training sessions in various fields, such as an introduction in 3D scanning techniques, a practical training session on 3D scanning of antiquities, the general principles of photography, and more.
