Bibliotheca Alexandrina Participates in the 11th eLearning Africa Conference

Pursuing its mission in disseminating knowledge and sharing its expertise, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina participated in the 11th eLearning Africa Conference. The event which is considered the key networking event for ICT enhanced development, education and training in Africa was held in Cairo during the period from May 24-26, 2016.
The event helped for those wanting to develop multinational, cross-industry partnerships and contacts whilst sharing knowledge and learning new skills. High profile delegates and keynote speakers participated in the conference under the patronage of the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has participated in the exhibition through showcasing several ICT projects in its designated booth. In addition,
Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, has contributed with a keynote speech titled “Reaching Out to Africa”. The speech was praised by the participants who were motivated to raise the awareness about Africa’s future.
The ICT team highlighted the different projects’ features which enhance the eLearning experience such as the BA African Networks, Science Supercourse, the Encyclopedia of Life and the BA Virtual Antiquities Museum. The conference’s participants ,along with other exhibitors, showed great interest in the various projects that were demonstrated during the successful three-day event.
