For the 8th consecutive year, the BA is inaugurating the “Big Read” program, which is a summer program targeting people aged 16 and older. The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, 19 June 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Small Theater, BA Conference Center.
The program is organized under the aegis of The Egyptian Association for the Friends of Bibliotheca Alexandrina. It offers a wide range of activities and events that revolve around a particular novel, aiming to encourage the general public to read. Momo, a novel by German Writer Michael Ende, has been chosen for this year’s summer activities.
The opening ceremony will present the program’s various activities, ranging from contests and meetings to a variety of workshops, such as a drama workshop, which is organized by the BA Arts Center in collaboration with the Theater Department of Alexandria University, and the “Think and Express” workshop for the deaf and hearing impaired.
