ALYM: Fourth African Students Graduation Ceremony

Since its establishment, the BA has aspired to be Egypt’s window on the world and the world’s window on Egypt, while paying particular attention to Africa. Thus, the BA launched the African League of Young Masters (ALYM) Program in July 2011. The program initially focused on African students studying at Alexandria University, and it then extended to include the students of Cairo University and Ain Shams University, becoming an addition to programs designed for youths. These programs aim to develop the skills of youths, raise their environmental awareness, promote constructive discussions that are based on scientific method, and encourage communication and the exchange of knowledge among them.
ALYM aims to develop channels of communication between African students and their Egyptian peers through holding weekly meetings, at the BA and at Cairo University, and through various other activities and field trips, which help both parties exchange knowledge and experiences and help them build a network of friendship, cooperation, and fondness among themselves. The program also aspires to strengthen Egyptian-African relations through creating future ambassadors for Egypt in different African countries.
This year, the program is organizing the Fourth African Students Graduation Ceremony to be held at the BA on 23 June 2016 at noon. Several ambassadors of African countries, where the students are originally from, have been invited to attend the ceremony. Additionally, Ambassador Mohamed Idriss, Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, has accepted the invitation to attend the celebration.
