Khaled Azab Wins State Award for Excellence

Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, won the State Award for Excellence in Social Sciences for his body of work.
The award was announced during the Supreme Council of Culture meeting, led by writer Helmy El-Namnam, the Egyptian Minister of Culture.
Dr. Khaled Azab earned his PhD in Islamic Archaeology from Cairo University. He served as the Chief Archaeological Inspector from 1994 to 2001. He was the Director of the BA Manuscripts Center from 2003 until January 2009 and the Head of the Departments of Media and Special Projects until 2013.
Dr. Azab is a member of numerous scientific societies and organizations, as well as editor-in-chief of a number of magazines. He took part in many Egyptian, Arab, and international conferences and has a large body of work.
In 2014, the Arab Thought Foundation granted Dr. Azab the Most Valuable Arabic Book Award for his book Fiqh of Urbanism: Architecture, Society, and State in the Islamic Civilization.
