The Early Christian Architecture book, which was published by the BA Center for Coptic Studies, has won the Fayoum University Incentive Award for Scientific Writing in 2015. The award ceremony was held as part of the University’s 8th Science Festival held on Monday, 21 December 2015. Written by Dr. Ahmed Amin, Professor of Archaeology at Fayoum University, the book is a part of the Coptic Notebooks series published by the Center for Coptic Studies as the first scientific series to be published in Arabic in this field for specialists and non-specialists alike.

Numerous professors and faculty members at the University competed for the award with their publications. The competing works involved different fields of knowledge, such as science, medicine, humanities, sociology, and others. All publications were scientifically reviewed in accordance with certain standards, including the added scientific value in its field of specialization, scientific approach and documentation, publishing house, layout, linguistic level, modernity, and adherence to the University’s goals.

The award sheds light on the BA policy of encouraging researchers to publish their outstanding scientific work and on its interest in publishing research work conducted in the field of Coptic studies.
