300 Arab and Egyptian Intellectuals Attend the Arab Culture Conference

The BA is organizing the Arab Culture Conference, which will host 300 Arab and Egyptian intellectual figures, on 16–17 November 2015.
Taking part in the conference are researchers, literary figures, and thinkers from 22 Arab countries, in addition to experts from Arab cultural institutions. They will convene to discuss, over the course of ten sessions, many vital cultural issues in the Arab world, such as humanitarian studies and its future complications in the Arab world; digital space and Arab culture; literature in the Arab world (reality and future perspectives); journalism, media, and contemporary Arab culture; and culture and religion (the old modern question).
The conference will be held annually to begin formulating reports on different topics in the Arab region. One of the conference sessions will cover the endangered Arab heritage, which will be discussed by Arab experts from several countries, including Dr. Ismail el-Fehail from Sudan, an international expert in intangible heritage; Dr. Haifaa Mekawy from Yemen; Dr. Adnan el-Harthy from Saudi Arabia; and Dr. Edham Hanash from Iraq. This session will be one of the pivotal sessions in the conference because of the destruction and threats of destruction inflicted on Arab heritage, as well as the loss of thousands of antiquities due to the current situation in the Arab region.
