The BA concludes the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt project events by organizing a three-day, high profile conference from 14 to 16 November 2015 at the BA Conference Center.
The program, which began its activities in November 2013, is part of a joint project between the BA and the European Union to develop cultural life in Egypt. The program organized a number of activities to promote intercultural dialogue; to map cultural activities and its workers in Egypt; foster young talents by organizing workshops and seminars for children and youths; and promote the activities held by cultural institutions.
In addition, the program created an intellectual cell encompassing youths, artists, intellectuals, ministry officials, public entities, and others to draft a national cultural policy for Egypt to be presented to the concerned Egyptian authorities for discussion and adoption.
The closing conference, which will be held under the title “Suggestions for a Framework of a National Cultural Policy in Egypt” aims to present and discuss the work carried out by the intellectual cell, including the national cultural policy draft papers and documents. An exhibition will also be held to shed light on the most prominent program activities and to showcase the artworks and research studies resulting from these activities.
The conference will host a large number of public figures, including artists, ministry officials, intellectuals, representatives of national and international cultural institutions, and participants who took part in the program. The event will be attended by over 300 intellectual from all over Egypt.
