The BA is organizing a new workshop titled "A Vision for an Egyptian Cultural Policy" as part of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program, which is funded by the European Union. The two-day workshop will be held on 27–28 August 2015 at the Misr Public Library in Port Said.
This is the second interactive workshop in a series of workshops designed specifically to discuss and formulate a draft for an Egyptian cultural policy to be presented to the concerned authority for discussion and adoption. With the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program coming to a close, the formulation of an Egyptian cultural policy becomes one of the most significant outcomes of the program’s Cultural Debates project, which aims to enhance the Egyptian cultural sector by inviting experts, intellectuals, and ministry officials to evaluate the current cultural position and discuss the important issues pertaining to developing the cultural field in Egypt.
Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector; and Dr. Sameh Fawzy, Head of the BA Center for Development Studies, will be attending the workshop alongside numerous prominent intellectuals, poets, novelists, and representatives of cultural organizations and civil societies.
