The National Library of Kuwait Donates Its Publications to the BA

Dr. Kafia Ramadan, the Advisory Board President of the National Library of Kuwait, visited the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, during which she met Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, to discuss the potential future cooperation between the two libraries. During the visit, the two libraries exchanged their most significant publications.
The donation comprises a collection of valuable books, most of which are related to the State of Kuwait and its history, such as Atlas al-Kuwayt al-Waṭani (The National Atlas of Kuwait), Baladiyat al-Kuwayt fi Khamsin 'Aman (Kuwait Municipality in 50 Years), Al-Kuwayt wa-al-thaqafah (Kuwait and Culture), Al-shi'r wa-alshu'ara’ fi al-Kuwayt (Poetry and Poets in Kuwait), al-Kuwayt wa-al-Tanmiyah al-Thaqafiyah (Kuwait and the Cultural Development), Mawani’ al-Kuwayt bayn al-'ams wal-yawm (Ports of Kuwait Between Yesterday and Today), Tarikh al-'Umla wa-Nuqud fi Dawlat al-Kuwayt (The History of Currency and Coins in the State of Kuwait), Al-Kuwayt wa 'Ayyam al-Ihtilal (Kuwait and the Days of Its Invasion), and 'Aswaq al-Kuwayt al-Qadimah (Old Traditional Markets in Kuwait), and many others.
The collection comprises a large number of children's literature books, in addition to a variety of books in Arabic and English.
It is worth mentioning that the BA has periodically received several donations by individuals institutions and governments from various parts of the world, most notably of which is the generous donation of almost 420,000 books and periodicals made by the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
