The BA International Prize Deadline Extended Until the End of April

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, announced that the Higher Committee of the BA International Award has agreed to extend the application deadline until the end of next April, to provide an opportunity for the largest number of researchers who have communicated with the BA administration, many of whom are still completing their application process, whether from Egypt or abroad.
He said that the Award’s review committee will commence its work in May, with the shortlist expected to be announced at the end of May.
He added that the Award’s Higher Committee will meet at the end of June to determine the name of the winner, which will be announced at the end of June, stating that the award will be handed out in a major ceremony in August.
The Award is granted in one field that changes annually, with its first edition’s theme entitled: Green Technology Applications for Achieving Well-Being and Happiness for Humanity.
Regarding the conditions and methods for applying, Prof. Zayed indicated that nominations should be made through institutions working in scientific, literary, or artistic fields. These institutions include universities, scientific research centers, and scientific and artistic academies. Nominations must be made through a nomination letter addressed to the Award Administration, accompanied by the reasons for the nomination, the nominee’s CV, a copy of their passport, and their consent to the nomination. Nomination documents must be uploaded to the Award’s Online Platform and a hard copy is sent to the headquarters of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The monetary value of the award is one million Egyptian pounds, along with a golden medal and a certificate of appreciation awarded to the winner in a theme that is determined annually.
