The events of the third edition of the International Conference on Information Literacy - Africa 2024 "ICIL Africa" have recently concluded. The conference was held in collaboration with North-West University (NWU), the University of Pretoria, the Association of African Universities - North Africa Regional Office (AAU – NARO), and the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AFLIA).

The conference has made several recommendations, including training librarians and raising their awareness of copyright and intellectual property rights, working to improve content in Arabic on the Internet and other languages in African countries, and helping policymakers, financiers, and the public to expand digital inclusion initiatives and encourage publication in local languages.

The conference stressed the need for libraries to adopt environmentally friendly practices and encourage a green information culture, with the aim of raising awareness of sustainability.
