“The Discovery of Tutankhamen’s Tomb” in a Lecture at the BA

The BA Antiquities Museum and the Zahi Hawass Center of Egyptology organize a lecture entitled “The Discovery of Tutankhamen’s Tomb 100 Years ago” on Thursday, 3 November 2022, at 1:00 pm, at the Antiquities Museum’s Afterlife Section.
The lecture sheds light on the discovery of the tomb of the young pharaoh Tutankhamun on 4 November 1922, thanks to the initiative undertaken by the English archaeologist Howard Carter. What makes the tomb special is that it is the only one found intact without being infiltrated by thieves. It has become legendary due to the King’s treasures and priceless gold funerary collections. This little pharaoh who ascended to the throne at the age of nine and died after only 10 years of his reign amid speculation and assumptions about the cause of this sudden and premature death. In this regard, the researcher highlights the true cause of his death through CT scans which were performed on his mummy, and which revealed an unexpected surprise, giving a new dimension to one of the most controversial figures in ancient Egyptian history.
